I am originally from Brownsville,TX and I was an athlete all my life. My love of sports drew me to a career in Sports Medicine as a clinician, educator and a researcher. I am a sports physical therapist who has a Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University in Waco, TX, a Master’s of Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL and a PhD in Kinesiology/Biomechanics from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. I have been working as a physical therapist mostly in an outpatient/sports setting since 2002. I am a board certified clinical specialist in sports by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist, licensed as an athletic trainer in the state of Texas and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. I am an active researcher with interests in athletic injury prevention, sports rehabilitation, sports performance enhancement and sports biomechanics.
