My name is Kya Davis, MS, and I am a first-year PhD Student in Exercise Science at Mississippi State University. I am dedicated to advancing cardiac rehabilitation for older adults with chronic heart conditions, particularly in the critical periods before and after major heart surgeries. My focus explores how tailored rehabilitation programs can enhance aerobic fitness and overall health outcomes for older individuals. By investigating the physiological and psychological benefits of structured rehabilitation, I aim to establish effective protocols that not only prepare individuals for surgery but also support their recovery, ultimately improving their quality of life and long-term cardiac health.
