David R. Hooper, PhD, CSCS*,D joined Jacksonville University as an Assistant Professor in 2017 following 2 years at Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA. Dr. Hooper received his Ph.D. in Kinesiology from The Ohio State University in 2015 and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2007. He has authored or coauthored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and over 50 abstract presentations at regional, national and international conferences. While his interests are diverse, Dr. Hooper is particularly interested in exercise endocrinology, including its applications in the form of biomarkers to assess recovery, as well in the context of performance enhancing drug use. In addition, he enjoys providing sport science support to athletes, sport nutrition and strength and conditioning as a whole.
