Doctoral Student
University of Southern Mississippi
My name is Tristan Young and I am an instructor as well as a first year PhD student in Kinesiology at the University of Southern Mississippi. I studied for six years at Georgia Southern University obtaining my bachelors and masters degrees in kinesiology. During my time at Georgia Southern, I held various roles, including managing the operating and administrative procedures of the university gym and working on the sports science team in the biomechanics lab, where I conducted research in professional soccer. My research covered training load (via GPS data) in combination with periodic range of motion assessments to evaluate the club's periodization, the effects of a nine month season, and what may specifically contribute to changes in ankle range of motion. I am currently a doctorate student and research assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi studying how CMJs assist in the monitoring of neuromuscular fatigue.
