Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant
University of Kansas
I’m Minh Nguyen, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and PhD student in the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory at the University of Kansas. Born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I first earned a B.S. in Construction & Structural Engineering from Western Michigan University (2015). Shortly after graduation, I discovered my passion for strength and conditioning, co-founding a youth athletic training center with my brother in Vietnam.
Driven to deepen my expertise, I completed an M.S. in Exercise Science at the University of Central Missouri before beginning my current doctoral work. My research examines every facet of soccer performance—biomechanics, physiology, and data-driven athlete monitoring—with a special focus on holistic, long-term development for youth players. Ultimately, I aim to translate rigorous sport science findings into practical training systems that elevate both athletic performance and overall physical well-being.
