Current projects include post-activation potentiation in resistance trained females, validating one-repetition maximum equations in females, and resistance training's effect on peri-menopausal symptoms.
During her 12-year coaching career, Alyssa led athletes to victories at USA Powerlifting Nationals, an Arnold Classic Champion, and achieved top national and international placements in USAPL and the IPF. As a powerlifting athlete herself, Alyssa has achieved eight state records and four Best Lifter awards in the 65kg weight class. Now retired from coaching, Alyssa teaches strength and conditioning and exercise physiology at UA, driven by a passion for merging human physiology with practical application.
