Rosie Perez graduated from Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Health and Human Performance. She is currently a doctoral student at the University of Arkansas, with an emphasis on exercise science, and a graduate researcher in the Heat and Hydration Optimization Lab under the direction of Dr. Brendon McDermott. Rosie’s recent research investigated hydration and renal stress in Boston Marathon runners, as well as heatstroke protocols and treatments. She has also contributed to research examining the health and fitness characteristics of police officers, Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets, and firefighters while working in the OSU Tactical Fitness and Nutrition Lab under the guidance of Dr. Jay Dawes. She plans to continue working alongside tactical populations with the hopes of optimizing health and performance.
