Zachary has long had a passion for understanding strategies related to improving athletic performance at the elite level. As a PhD candidate, Zach works under the supervision of Dr. Matt Jordan at the University of Calgary where he investigates and applies strategies to improve return to sport outcomes following ACL injury. This is primarily related to establishing quantifiable return to sport muscle strength thresholds and understanding the role of fatigue on athlete performance both from acute and chronic perspectives after the ACL return to sport transition. The work in this area has been published in high impact journals and presented at a range of conferences including the American College of Sport Medicine Annual General Meeting, and the Elite Basketball Rehab Conference. Currently, Zach is employment with the Calgary Flames as the Player Development Sport Performance Coach.
