Graduate Student (Master's)
Mississippi State University
I'm Allison Brown, an exercise physiology master's student at Mississippi State University, where I work as a graduate teaching assistant. I am currently working under Dr. Zachary Gillen in the Resistance Exercise Performance (REP) Laboratory. During my time at Mississippi State University, I have gained knowledge in various research areas of kinesiology, including exercise physiology, sport psychology, and physical education/coaching (B.S. in Phys. Ed. and Coaching). I have just completed my thesis titled, Effects of Psychological Arousal and Relaxation on Muscle Performance, Activation, and Heart Rate Variability During Maximal Muscle Strength and Precision Tasks. This research involves using a psychological influence via music selections on different types of motor performance to provide strength and conditioning professionals with more information to utilize the psychological component of training. I will have my master's degree in August and begin my PhD in Exercise Science at Mississippi State University this fall.
Hail State!
