Andrew Shim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Exercise Science at Catawba College. He earned his BS degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Kinesiology & Health Promotion, MA from California State University, Los Angeles in Exercise Science/Biomechanics, and his Doctorate in Education from United States International University/San Diego in Health Pedagogy. He is a certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with Distinction from the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a Fellow with the NSCA. He has earned several national service and research awards such as President’s Research Award from the University of South Dakota in 2013, Outstanding Advisor of the Year in 2019 from College of Saint Mary, and Distinguished Scholar from the National Association of Kinesiology & Higher Education.
